Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived Tuesday in Beirut on an official visit and met with President Joseph Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri.

The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, began Monday a visit to Israel, where she is set to meet with senior officials, her office said.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said Monday that his "doors are always open" for Hezbollah after he met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh, as the gap between Salam and Berri's ally Hezbollah seemed to widen over the group's disarmament.
"I am leaving plenty of room for cordiality with (Hezbollah MP) Hajj Mohammad Raad and my doors are always open for him and Hezbollah," Salam said.

President Joseph Aoun on Sunday began an official visit to Iraq by meeting with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid.

One person was killed Sunday in an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in the southern town of Arnoun, Al-Jadeed TV said.
Earlier in the day an Israeli drone bombed a car in the Bint Jbeil district town of Beit Leef, wounding one person, the Health Ministry said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit Lebanon on Monday, the Iranian foreign ministry said.

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah on Saturday said “the stances we’re hearing from some of the government components do not only contravene the Ministerial Statement, but are against it and its total opposite.”

President Joseph Aoun held Friday a security meeting with the Minister of Defense, the Army Commander, and the Intelligence chief over the disarmament of Palestinian camps in Lebanon, which will start in mid-June in three Beirut camps.
Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri had met earlier Friday at the Baabda Palace, in talks described by Berri as "excellent."

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri seems to support ally Hezbollah in its cold war with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
Salam, who vowed the state's monopoly on arms since his appointment, recently escalated his rhetoric saying that the era of "exporting the Iranian revolution has ended" and that the state "will not remain silent over any arms outside the state’s control". "The region has grown tired of Iranian-U.S. polarization," he said.

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri voiced support for United Nations peacekeepers after recent clashes between the peacekeepers and locals in south Lebanon, the latest in the southern town of Yater.
"I support the UNIFIL peacekeepers whether they are wrong or right. Locals, even if they are supporters of Amal or Hezbollah, should try not to overreact," Berri told local al-Joumhouria newspaper in remarks published Friday. "We know that Israel is against the UNIFIL's presence in south Lebanon and has targeted them many times. This alone is enough for us to support their presence," he said, adding that "their presence has also made a positive impact on the economy in southern villages."
