Indonesia has issued regulations that will require cigarette packets to bear graphic photographic warnings, a long-delayed measure in a country with one of the highest rates of smoking in the world.

Australia had its hottest day on record Monday with a nationwide average of 40.33 degrees Celsius (104.59 degrees Fahrenheit), narrowly breaking a 1972 record of 40.17 C (104.31 F). Valencia reached the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey after goals by Tino Costa and Roberto Soldado gave it a 2-1 win against Osasuna on Tuesday, putting the club through 4-1 on aggregate.
