Utah's Mo Williams sank a three-pointer on the buzzer to give the Jazz a 99-96 win over San Antonio on Wednesday, ending the Spurs' winning streak at five and stopping the Texan team moving to the top of the NBA standings.

The Jazz trailed by eight points with a little more than four minutes remaining but fought back for a satisfying win over their recent nemesis. Williams' winning shot was his only three of the night and he finished with just eight points on 3-for-9 shooting from the field.

Former No. 1 Kim Clijsters ended her career with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Venus Williams in a ceremonial farewell match.

Clijsters retired after the U.S. Open but organized a match to thank her fans, 13,000 of whom turned up at Antwerp Sports Palace, including Crown Prince Phillipe and Princess Mathilde.

Lilly Plans Another Study for Alzheimer's Drug

Eli Lilly's experimental Alzheimer's drug has flashed potential to help with mild cases of the disease, but patients and doctors will have to wait a few more years to learn whether regulators will allow the drugmaker to sell it.

Lilly said Wednesday that it will launch another late-stage study of the drug, solanezumab, no later than next year's third quarter. The company's stock slipped in midday trading.

At Least 150 Sick in Gabon From Painful Fever

Health officials in the African nation of Gabon say at least 150 people have been sickened by a mosquito-borne illness.

Gabon's Health Minister Marie Josee Ndombi announced Wednesday night in a statement on national television that the patients had been hospitalized with suspected cases of chikungunya fever.
