Contract Dispute Delays 'Big Bang' Production

Production on a new season of "The Big Bang Theory" is being delayed because of a contract dispute with its top actors.

The Warner Brothers Television studio, which makes television's most popular comedy, said that Wednesday's scheduled first day of work after the summer hiatus was postponed. There's no word on when "The Big Bang Theory" team will be back at work.

George W. Bush Writes Book about Father

His paintings made news worldwide, but it turns out that former President George W. Bush has been working on another, highly personal project since leaving the White House: He has quietly completed a biography of his father, former President George H.W. Bush.

Crown Publishers told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the book, currently untitled, will be released November 11. In 2010, Crown published the younger Bush's million-selling memoir, "Decision Points."

Groundbreaking Set for Graceland Hotel

Priscilla Presley is scheduled to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for a new hotel at Graceland, the Memphis tourist attraction centered on the longtime home of her late ex-husband, rock and roll icon Elvis Presley.

Elvis Presley Enterprises, the operators of Graceland, said Tuesday the groundbreaking for the 450-room hotel called The Guest House is set for Aug. 14. Once built, the hotel will include two restaurants, meeting and special events space, and a 500-seat theater for live performances.

Spain Economic Growth at Fastest Pace since 2007

Spain's economy grew by a better-than-expected 0.6 percent in the second quarter compared with the previous three months, the fastest rate since 2007 and more evidence of the country's recovery from recession.

In provisional estimates released Wednesday, the National Statistics Institute says the economy grew by 1.2 percent over 12 months, following four consecutive quarters of expansion.
