Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri is expected to hold a meeting soon with Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat in Paris, An Nahar newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The daily said that the first meeting between the two officials since the government of Hariri was toppled in December 2011 and the formation of a cabinet led by Prime Minister Najib Miqati, is likely to be held on Tuesday.

According to An Nahar, Hariri and Jumblat will address the Syrian crisis and coordinate their stances, knowing that they both support the popular revolt against President Bashar Assad’s regime that kicked off in March 2011.

They will also tackle the local situation in Lebanon and the electoral draft law.

President Michel Suleiman signed the draft law over the weekend, which was approved by the cabinet in August.

Hariri and Jumblat criticized the bill, which is based on proportional representation and divides Lebanon to 13 districts in the 2013 parliamentary elections.

Why that sudden increase in the red votes?? My guess is that FT jamma3 shabeb el 7ay, all losers like him, told them to register to naharnet, and vote down all pro M14 comments. That guy must really have nothing to do in life, and he is unfortunately doing it all here.

Thumb benzona 04 September 2012, 12:47

What you say is so true.

Thumb geha 04 September 2012, 15:56

yes, FT is voting himself up and others down under several aliases :)
this shows how futile m8 are :)

@ahlen, I am sorry you are defending someone like FT who has openly and repeatedly advocated the shooting of M14 supporters in the head and dissolving them in acid. Once more you are correct, there is not proof that FT has multiple accounts. There is only his past unethical and immoral behavior and assumptions.

Some of us are seeking a dialogue that leads to a mutually beneficial solution to our differences. This cannot be achieved as long as there are weapons outside the authority of the state.

Today, one group of people fears the other and when members of that other group post on Naharnet for the sole pleasure they derive from humiliating us and our inability to take our country in the direction that we want even when we are the silent majority, is insult to injure, is not at all funny and is not at all welcome! Those who take pleasure in our misery are morbid soulless abominations that you should not be defending.

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 19:33

Because people like you are incapable of understanding I have family members who live there and are suffering form the oppression of your Party...

Thumb geha 04 September 2012, 15:56

the outcome of this meeting will seal the fate of m8.

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 16:23

@geha, that is a gross miscalculation on your part. The M14 leadership does not have the physical strength to support its democratically achieved majority. This has already been demonstrated when they were in power (Mr. Jumblat with them) and could not achieve a single thing and were forcibly removed by the Party of Terror and Intimidation by resorting to the street and using the weight of their weapons.

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 17:07

Apparently some people need to be talked to as if they are still in grade school otherwise their eyes glaze over and their brain short circuits and starts repeating their imprinted talking points like a broken record. In 2005 M14 + Mr. Joumblat were the majority and could not achieve anything because they were being assassinated one by one. In 2013, M14 + Mr. Joumblat will be the majority once again and once again will achieve nothing because they will still be under the thumb of the Iranian regime and their non-Lebanese watchdog, the Party of Terror and Intimidation.

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 17:16

The Party of Terror and Intimidation cannot defeat Israel and Israel cannot defeat the Party of Terror and Intimidation. Lebanon will continue to be held hostage until USA/Israel and Iran come to a resolution over Iran's nuclear program. Until then Lebanon will continue to languish in Chaos. The only thing that can forcibly disarm the Party of Terror and Intimidation is a peace treaty between Lebanon and Israel but don't hold your breath...Syria will never allow that to happen regardless if Assad or the Brotherhood is in charge.

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 16:14

@ahlen, you are correct, everyone has a right to comment on Naharnet. But where you are wrong is that we do have the right to reject people who are offensive, immoral, and venomous antagonists like karim_m1. They are are not welcome here and requested to take their filth, stupidity and innuendo elsewhere. Here, we welcome M8 and M14 civilized debates, all else is not welcome, esp. name calling. Just because I am an M14 supporter, it does not mean I am a Wahhabi or a Zionists. If you are going to preach, then preach fairly to both sides.

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 18:20

This is so boring, kel ma y di2 el kouz bil jarra, mnirja3 lal civil war and point fingers to change the narrative. Once and for all, all warlords, in all sides of the Lebanese civil war committed crimes against humanity. All those actors have now assumed different roles and are trying to tackle the same old problem, the weakness of the state. If you can't debate the present, you resort to the past. When you bring fresh ideas and a fresh point of view without name calling and accusing people of being Wahhabi, you are welcome to the discussion. Stating that something is fact without supporting evidence does not make it fact no matter how many times you repeat it. Grow up, give up the name calling and debate the future of this country instead of BS and repeating what your Party stands for. We already know who you support, no need to be belligerent about it. Debate or get out!

Thumb Bandoul 04 September 2012, 16:17

Actually it the Party of Terror and Intimidation that is broke because their leadership in Iran is running out of money.

Thumb anonymouslb 04 September 2012, 22:18

Big deal...

Thumb anonymouslb 04 September 2012, 22:22

Why support the rebellion? we suffered ourselves for more than 30 years of Syrian interference in our affairs... Leave the Syrians alone to sort their fate out...
The only moral thing to do is putting pressure on the regime and the opposition to dialogue and find a political solution...

Missing chriseid 05 September 2012, 08:23

What Lebanon needs is Swiss-style official neutrality. Peace with all neighbours. Complete ban on all private firearms. A joint NATO-Russian guarantee of Lebanese territorial integrity and security. Why is that so hard to achieve?

Missing chriseid 05 September 2012, 17:16

They why do they have peace with Egypt and Jordan? What you're saying doesn't make sense. It has been demonstrated to be false. The Palestinian territories are another issue because, as we all know, they want to annexe them. Lebanon is a security threat to them and nothing more. If you think Israel wants to annexe South Lebanon you are truly out of your mind. Anyway, hypothetically if NATO and Russia are willing to guarantee Lebanese security with a significant UN force, wouldn't that be enough to make Hizbullah obsolete? I'm not talking about some BS mandate that will elaborate. I mean a guarantee with teeth.
