Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri is expected to hold a meeting soon with Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat in Paris, An Nahar newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The daily said that the first meeting between the two officials since the government of Hariri was toppled in December 2011 and the formation of a cabinet led by Prime Minister Najib Miqati, is likely to be held on Tuesday.
According to An Nahar, Hariri and Jumblat will address the Syrian crisis and coordinate their stances, knowing that they both support the popular revolt against President Bashar Assad’s regime that kicked off in March 2011.
They will also tackle the local situation in Lebanon and the electoral draft law.
President Michel Suleiman signed the draft law over the weekend, which was approved by the cabinet in August.
Hariri and Jumblat criticized the bill, which is based on proportional representation and divides Lebanon to 13 districts in the 2013 parliamentary elections.
