Khamenei says Nasrallah 'heroic prince of Arabs' who follows prophets in greatness

Iran’s supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has described slain Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as the "heroic prince of the Arabs and the great symbol of the Resistance Front," in a letter marking two years since his killing at Israel’s hand.

“His speeches and initiatives strengthened the hearts of his people and the free people of the world," Khamenei said.

"Nasrallah was, throughout the history of the Levant up until today, and after the prophets and their successors, a man unmatched in greatness in that ancient land," the Iranian leader added.

He emphasized that Nasrallah's "banner" is today held safely in the hands of Hezbollah's current Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, who he said continues to follow his path with courage at the forefront of what he described as the "firm and Ashoura-inspired ranks of Hezbollah."

Khamenei considered that "the phase Lebanon is currently going through will be recorded in the balance of history as 'prominent and glorious' days for Lebanon and the resistance fighters,” contrasting with days that he said will bring humiliation and end in disgrace for those who pin their hopes on what he described as the “false promises of the hegemons.”

"The leaders and fighters of the resistance will continue to shine through time like bright stars, serving as guides for those who are lost, searching for the way, and caught in confusion," Khamenei suggested.

Conversely, he said that Hezbollah’s domestic rivals will be “quickly buried and forgotten from the very first pages turned by history,” and that their memory in the future will be, in his words, associated with "evil, mismanagement, and perhaps treason as well."
