Report: Araghchi agrees to deal to reopen Hormuz

W460

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi agreed overnight to a compromise proposal formulated by Qatari and U.S. mediators regarding an arrangement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, two informed diplomats told Israel's Channel 12.

"Araghchi's positive response was one of the reasons why (U.S.) President (Donald) Trump agreed to call off" a planned major attack on Iran, the diplomats added.

Trump had earlier said that the U.S. and Israel have agreed to hold off on new strikes on Iran -- provided a deal to end the months-long conflict is "rapidly" reached.

Still waiting and Trump now says the demand on Iran is "denuclearization". "Make sure Iran never has nuclear weapons," says Trump today, despite just retired DNI Tulsi Gabbard saying Iran was not pursuing nuclear weapons, so Trump means to kill all Iranians just to be on the safe side, while denying that Netanyahu told him to say this.

Quoting the American Jewish Committee, Google Gemini says "The United States and Israel launched coordinated military strikes against Iran to eliminate what leaders in Washington and Jerusalem defined as an existential and imminent threat. The Council on Foreign Relations Conflict Tracker outlines that the offensive was triggered by the breakdown of diplomacy regarding Iran's advancing nuclear capabilities, its ballistic missile programs, and its continued backing of regional proxy militias."

I think I see the problem here: why this prediction has not come true. Channel 12 should have said the two diplomats were "uniformed". What would a uniformed diplomat be? If the two US negotiators are Kushner and what's-his-name, and the Qatari diplomat is some Emir's cousin, that's practicaly a uniformed diplomat, a bell-hop, a messenger boy. Diplomacy carries the idea of a reasonable accomodation. I wonder if Qatar or the US has any diplomats. Is it Kushner and Waltz, Google? Witkoff. Here's Google: Israel's Channel 12 did report exactly that, stating that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accepted a U.S.-Qatari compromise proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The exclusive report, broken by journalist Barak Ravid, noted that Araghchi's positive response was a primary reason U.S. President Donald Trump called off a planned military strike against Iran.

Inside the Channel 12 Report The Transit Compromise: Commercial ships would enter the Persian Gulf through the Iranian-controlled side of the strait and exit through Omani waters. The Operational Window: The proposed framework outlined a toll-free opening of the strait for a 60-day period to allow broader diplomatic talks to resume. The Diplomatic Backdrop: Oman and Qatar have been actively mediating to secure assurances from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to respect the arrangement. Iran's Response and the Reality of the Deal Official Denials: Tehran immediately disputed the report, with state-affiliated media like the Fars News Agency calling the Channel 12 claim "completely false" and stating that no final deal had been locked in.

Active Negotiations: Despite the public denials, subsequent updates confirm that Trump's backchannel envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, are actively ironing out a 14-to-15-point memorandum of understanding (MOU). The Broader Framework: This developing framework reportedly includes a temporary freeze on uranium enrichment, sanctions relief, and a formalized structure to permanently clear naval mines and secure shipping lanes.

I think we can see from all this why everybody's so nervous these past few days. Trump is giving up on all his demands. MSM can't say so, which makes the eventual announcement all the more shocking and humiliating for Trump when it comes. People are expecting him to self-destruct. I hope, instead of resorting to "the coward's way out", he'll view this as a long-overdue lesson in humility. It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

You're already asking yourself, will Israel spoil the deal? All they have to do is keep attacking Lebanon, since the MoU has "Lebanon" in its first clause, I think it was. That's been the hold up this past month. So all Trump, the old carnie, has to do is sit back and wait for Israel to spoil the deal. A generalized meltdown is happening in all the neo-colonial state-like entities. Yemeni attacks seem to be punishing the KSA statelet in "internationally recognized", i.e., KSA's colony, on Yemeni territory and KSA itself. What's the saying, the world ends not with a bang but with a whimper? The Author: T. S. Eliot wrote the poem after World War I, a time when many people felt hopeless and lost. The Theme: The poem is about "hollow men" who lack real purpose, faith, or passion. The Ending: Instead of a dramatic, fiery apocalypse (the "bang"), the world fades away in a sad, quiet, and pathetic fade-out (the "whimper").
