Berri condemns Israeli detonations near UNESCO-listed Beaufort Castle
Speaker Nabih Berri condemned Friday Israeli detonations near the UNESCO-listed Beaufort Castle, and in the towns of Arnoun, Kfartibnit, Yohmor al-Shqif, and Hadatha in south Lebanon.
Israel said it destroyed tunnels used by Hezbollah in the Beaufort area using approximately 700 tons of explosives. The tremors from these explosions were felt in the south, and even in the capital Beirut, Berri said, adding that these condemned actions are unacceptable and must not be met "with silence" or treated as a fait accompli.
"If these shockwaves fail to awaken the national and moral consciousness, then humanity and its future are in inevitable peril."
A June 20 truce between Lebanon and Israel has largely held, but the destruction of southern occupied villages has not stopped.
Israeli strikes and artillery shelling on the south have not cease, but only declined, and are now limited mainly to villages sitting on the Israeli-declared yellow line separating occupied villages from the rest of the south.

Like the father that cannot hear the cries of his children, which constantly are heard, felt, and responded to by each child's Mother, Berri cannot hear the applause coming from all but Hezbollah's neighborhoods in Beirut and throughout the North.
Hearing aids might help, but only if the patient ceases to ignore the prescription of his doctors, and wears them regularly ....
