Issa say Aoun won't return 'empty-handed' from US

President Joseph Aoun’s meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday was “successful and positive” and the two men discussed “all files,” U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa said.

The Lebanese president “will not return empty-handed from Washington,” Issa added, ahead of Aoun’s meeting with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump on Tuesday.

Asked about a possible Syrian intervention against Hezbollah in Lebanon, Issa said: “We’re certain that such an involvement would be meaningless and Rubio does not support it.”

Issa says the President's Syrian intervention proposal is "meaningless." That's a good term for the Big Zero.

But his absence is deliberate. I would call it diabolical.

Now I notice Issa is distancing himself from Trump: but pinning his hopes on Rubio seems foolish. But these days, anything is possible.
