Hezbollah voices support for Hamas' response to Trump's plan

Hezbollah has voiced support for “the stance taken by the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in coordination and consultation with the rest of the Palestinian resistance factions regarding Trump’s plan to halt the Israeli war on Gaza.”
In a statement, Hezbollah said Hamas’ stance stems out of “extreme keenness on stopping the brutal Israeli aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip.”
“It stresses adherence to the principles of the Palestinian cause and refrains from giving up the rights of the Palestinian people. It also reflects the keenness of the Hamas Movement and all resistance movements to the unity of the Palestinian people,” Hezbollah added.
They considered that “national Palestinian consensus that is based on the legitimate national rights is the framework on which the negotiations should be based in order for the enemy to withdraw from the entire Gaza Strip and to prevent the displacement of its residents,” Hezbollah noted.
A day earlier, Hezbollah chief Sheikh Naim Qassem had said that Trump’s plan for a ceasefire in Gaza was "full of dangers", accusing Israel of using the proposal to achieve what it "failed" to do during the war.
Qassem suggested Israel would use the plan as pretext to take over the land and strip Palestinians of their self-determination, but said the decision of whether to accept it was ultimately up to Hamas.
Hamas on Friday gave a positive response to Trump's proposal to free the hostages it holds in Gaza and end the nearly two-year war there.
The Trump plan, which has been endorsed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, also demands the disarmament of Hamas and its exclusion from Gaza's future governance -- issues the group did not directly address in its official response.
