Mikati says Lebanon committed to 1701, army ready to implement it

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced Sunday that Lebanon is "committed to Resolution 1701" and that the army is "ready to implement it."

"We call for a ceasefire on all fronts," he said.

Mikati added that Lebanon could be witnessing its largest wave of displacement ever amid intense Israeli air strikes.

"It is the largest displacement movement that may have happened... in Lebanon," Mikati told reporters, after saying up to one million people could be displaced by the Israeli attacks.

So start implementing 1701 ... We agreed to do it, long ago ... Our agreement was not conditional on some other/undefined-additional agreement being made or on acceptance by parliament or something else.

When will Lebanon act as a country by furthering its own sovereignty and ensuring its own ability to improve itself?

1701 belong to the garbage heap. We need a new ans stronger resolution, and btw we need a new and stronger prime minister too…

Mikati is subservient to Hezbollah and can't agree to anything w/o Hezbollah's approval.
