Suspected Arms Dealer Arrested in Akkar
Police in the northern district of Akkar arrested a suspect over his alleged involvement in arms trade across the country's border, the National News Agency said Saturday.
The Regional Directorate of the State Security in Akkar arrested the suspect on his motorbike in an ambush in the Jabal Akroum region, NNA said.
The suspect, identified with his initials as K.D., was under close surveillance, it added.
The agency said that several rifles were caught in his possession.
The detainee is suspected to be involved in arms trade across the country's border, it added.
He is wanted on several arrest warrants.
