Jumblat Praises Palestinian 'Mujaheddin' after Jerusalem Attack
Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat praised Friday's Jerusalem attack that resulted in the death of two Israeli soldiers, stressing that “dignities of worshipers must be kept untouched.”
“Respect for the heroic mujaheddin who killed occupant soldiers of Israel in Jerusalem,” said Jumblat in a tweet.
He stressed that “dignities of worshipers must be kept untarnished, they must not be searched and humiliated.”
Israel reopened an ultra-sensitive holy site Sunday closed after Friday's attack but Muslim worshipers were refusing to enter due to new security measures including metal detectors and cameras.
“In this context, I deplore all sectarian incitement calls. I call for rejecting the recruitment of the Druze in the Israeli army,” added the PSP leader.
Three Arab Israelis opened fire and killed two Israeli police Friday in Jerusalem's Old City before fleeing to the Jerusalem's Haram al-Sharif compound, where they were shot dead by security forces.
It was one of the most serious incidents in Jerusalem in recent years.
Israel took the highly unusual decision of closing the Al-Aqsa mosque compound for Friday prayers, triggering anger from Muslims and Jordan, the holy site's custodian.

He may be trying to gain popularity in certain circles in Lebanon before the elections, but I guess the israeli druze (who these two killed soldiers were) are not buying into it. The occational terror attack will not bring victory for the palestinians and defeat for the israelis. If there is one weapon that would work its non violence combined with demography. A two state solution would help both parts, but these kind of incidents only prolong misery.

It was a heroic attack indeed.
Jumblat is not a good leader for the Druze, he should support Assad against the salafis but instead he let old grudges consume his mind.
Druze were killed by their thousands and yet he said Nusra was ok.

If it means the protection of your sect, then yes I believe you should compromise then.
Even the Ansarullah in Yemen are allied now with Ali Abdullah Saleh, even though his forces killed their last leader brother of Al Houthi.
Jumblat alongside Geagea thought that Nusra would win in Syria, that is the reason that they licked salafi feet in the beginning.

By the way, the death of Kamal Jumblat cannot be blamed on Syria, because he was in the Pro Arab camp, and they were pro Palestine during the civil war.
