With general aoun's exremely good looks and hariri's extremely large brains, Lebanon will be like Switzerland again and the best country in the Middle East after Iran.

I have the utmost respect and deep appreciation for General aoun for making Riyadh, the capital of the Wahabi State, his first-leg of a Gulf tour in the middle of January and for focusing mainly on the reactivation of Saudi Salafi tourism towards Lebanon.

While not a fan of Aoun and his Don Quixote son-in-law, I should admit that his performance for the past-few months has exceeded all expectations. Hi did out-maneuvered Hizb though he set a bad precedence for freezing parliament/government and may forever risk Christian-Muslim sharing of power or greater decentralization/modernization urgently needed for Lebanon. His trip to Saudi is a good move considering the many Lebanese expats that are welcomed and making a good living in Saudi Arabia and also for the generous grants it has provided over the decades. However, Lebanon should regain its role as a cradle of democracy and intellectual weight in the region and enact a law that all Arab/Iranian intellectuals/activists seeking peaceful change in their county are welcomed and protected by the Lebanese constitution and shielded from all political forces so Lebanon’s soul can never be bought and its flame of democracy and civil rights keep shining in this dark region.
