3 Dead, 10 Hurt in Fatah-Hamas Clash at Lebanon Refugee Camp

Three people were killed and ten others wounded Sunday in an armed clash at the al-Bourj al-Shamali Palestinian refugee camp in south Lebanon, al-Jadeed TV said.

The TV network said the clash, between the Islamist Hamas Movement and the secular Fatah Movement, broke out during the funeral of Hamas member Hamza Ibrahim Shahine, who was killed in Friday's blasts at the camp.

Geagea Urges State to Explain What Happened in al-Bourj al-Shamali

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Sunday called on the defense and interior ministries to explain the circumstances of Friday’s explosions at the Palestinian refugee camp of al-Bourj al-Shamali.

Fayyad in Paris for Talks on Energy, Electricity, Water

Energy Minister Walid Fayyad traveled Sunday to Paris on an official visit during which he will meet with top officials in the energy, electricity and water sectors, state-run National News Agency reported.

“He will also meet with a number of officials at French electricity company EDF, the French Development Agency (AFD), which is funding several water and sewage projects, and the Total (Energies) firm, which is working on (offshore oil and gas) blocks 4 and 9,” NNA added.

EU Adopts Equivalence Decision for Lebanon on Digital COVID Certificate

The European Commission on Friday adopted a new equivalence decision certifying that COVID-19 certificates issued by Lebanon are equivalent to the EU Digital COVID Certificate.

The EU Digital COVID Certificate is a proof that a person has either been vaccinated against COVID-19, received a negative PCR test result or recovered from COVID-19. It was launched by the European Commission on July 1, 2021 in order to facilitate safe free movement across the European Union during the pandemic. Fifty-six countries and territories in five continents have since joined the system, with non-EU countries connecting through an equivalence decision.

Saudi FM Says 'No Crisis between KSA and Lebanon'
