The security situation in the southern Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh is worrisome after reports said that groups from the militant organization of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis is receiving military training inside the camp, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Tuesday.
The daily said there is a clear concern on the part of several regional and international parties about the situation in the camp after receiving information that there are groups of the said brigades-- that carry out terrorist operations in northern Sinai and are fought back by the Egyptian army on a daily basis-- receiving training in the camp.

A member of the Internal Security Forces was killed on Monday in a vehicle accident in the southern city of Nabatieh, the National News Agency reported.
The victim, 25, who was identified with his initials as N.S. was killed after losing control of his BMW vehicle, causing it to slam into an electricity pole, NNA said.

Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq denounced on Monday Hizbullah's armed deployment over the weekend in Beirut's southern suburb of Bourj al-Barajneh stating it as a "challenge to the new term" of President Michel Aoun.
“Hizbullah's manifestation is condemned and rejected. It is a slap in the face for the new term and a challenge to the logic of the State,” said Mashnouq on Twitter.

Newly appointed Army Commander General Joseph Aoun stressed his adamant will to uncover the fate of the Lebanese abducted servicemen regardless what their fate turns out to be, as he said his focus will concentrate on distancing the army from political interference.

One of the two Syrians killed on Thursday in a blast in the Bekaa border town of Arsal is likely an Islamic State militant, while two of the wounded were smuggled outside the hospital where they were getting treatment, the pan Arab al-Hayat daily reported on Saturday.
A senior Lebanese security source who spoke on condition of anonymity told the daily that one of two Syrians killed in the blast that ripped through a pickup truck in Arsal is likely a member of the IS militant group.

Hizbullah party is set to dispatch a delegation to the Presidential Palace to convey the party's leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's “appreciation” for President Michel Aoun's stance at the Arab summit in Jordan, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Saturday.
After Aoun's return from Jordan, the President has reportedly received a telephone call from Nasrallah expressing his deep appreciation for Aoun's position, something which has not been confirmed by either parties, said the daily.

Lebanon will present a comprehensive plan to help alleviate the enormous burden of Syrian refugees at an upcoming Syria conference in Brussels, but needs urgent international support to avoid collapse, Prime Minister Saad Hariri said.
Speaking to a group of journalists ahead of the April 5 European conference in Brussels on supporting the future of Syria, Hariri warned on Friday that Lebanon faces serious security and economic issues and has reached breaking point.
