Baabda Palace press office violated the protocol after failing to include the name of Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam on the list of attendees of the reception of well-wishers at the Baabda Palace on the occasion of the country's 70th Independence Day.
According to al-Liwaa newspaper published on Tuesday, the press office included the names of Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Najib Miqati but failed to place the name of Salam on the list.

Lebanese officials will ask the representatives of major powers for equipment to block Israeli espionage on Lebanon, As Safir newspaper reported on Monday.
The daily said that the ambassadors of the major powers that are permanent U.N. Security Council members in addition to the EU's top diplomat in Lebanon will attend a meeting of the joint parliamentary committees next week.

The Higher Islamic Council urged on Saturday the Lebanese to maintain the security situation in Lebanon amid the “delicate” stage the country is passing through.
“The division, chaos and lawlessness level that the country has reached... compelled us to demand all the responsible sides to facilitate the formation of a national salvation cabinet,” the council said in a statement.

The Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops called on Saturday at the end of its 47th meeting for the swift formation of a new capable cabinet, lashing out at the political disputes among the rival politicians.
“The increasing political disputes that are disrupting the country are distressing,” the final statement of the council said.

Speaker Nabih Berri stated on Friday that locally-tailored initiatives are “ineffective,” adding that efforts to find solutions to Lebanon's crises must be exerted abroad.
"We are proving that Lebanon cannot rule itself and is always in need of help,” Berri said after meeting with a delegation of the Syndicate of Editors' board.

Speaker Nabih Berri expressed his relief on Wednesday over the conclusions reached at the telecommunications committee's meeting on the Israeli spying report, praising also parliamentary “consensus” to confront Israel's activities.
Berri urged during his weekly Wednesday talks with parliamentary blocs “continuing to exert necessary efforts” in this matter.

Speaker Nabih Berri has expressed optimism that a deal on Iran's nuclear program would have positive effects on Lebanon, reiterating his call on the March 14 alliance to agree to its participation in the government with nine ministers similar to the March 8 coalition.
In remarks to local newspapers published on Tuesday, Berri said: “The region would witness a political nuclear explosion whose shrapnel and effects would reach the entire region, including Lebanon” if world powers agreed on a deal to curb Iran's nuclear program.

Speaker Nabih Berri said on Monday that the political deadlock should be resolved, stressing the the cabinet formation became an essential demand.
“The situation can't go on as it is,” Berri said in comments published in local newspapers.

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati stressed on Saturday that talks are ongoing to determine the correct reference over the tasks that should be carried out by a caretaker cabinet.
“Any dispute is only over the right way to achieve the public interest,” Miqati told reporters after talks with Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh.

Lebanon will file a complaint to the United Nations Security Council over the recent spying stations installed by Israel along its border with Lebanon.
According to al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Friday, the complaint will be filed in light of the report issued by the parliamentary telecommunications committee, which will meet on Monday.
