Lebanese woman Rima Najdi has come up with a unique way to protest the recent deadly bombings that have rocked Lebanon.

She wrapped herself in a hoax suicide vest and roamed several Beirut streets on Sunday.

Israeli army intensified on Thursday patrols along the border with Lebanon and began erecting earth mounds in the occupied Shebaa Farms.

According to the state-run National News Agency, the Israeli army carried out patrols off al-Abbasiyeh and Ghajar, reaching all the way to Kfarshouba hills as soldiers monitored the area.

The Higher Defense Council agreed on Saturday to refer the assassination case of ex-Finance Minister Mohammed Shatah and the "latest crimes" to the Judicial Council, Caretaker Premier Najib Miqati and the HDC announced.

“During our meeting with (President Michel) Suleiman, the caretaker Justice Minister joined us, so we asked him to prepare the appropriate documents to refer yesterday’s crime and the recent crimes to the Judicial Council,” Miqati said following an emergency HDC meeting at Baabda Palace.

A heavy explosion that rocked the capital Beirut on Friday targeted the convoy of former Finance Minister Mohammed Shatah, who is ex-Prime Minister Saad Hariri's adviser.

Shatah's vehicle license was located in the area of the blast.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 struck north the capital Beirut and Mount Lebanon early Friday morning.

Lebanon's state-run Bhannes Center for Seismic and Scientific Research said that “a 3.1 magnitude earthquake was felt by Beirut residents at 2:40 a.m.”

The body of a British doctor who mysteriously died in a Syrian jail was flown back to London on Sunday, London's Heathrow Airport said.

An airport spokeswoman said the body of Abbas Khan, who Britain claims was "effectively murdered" by the Syrian regime, arrived in London early Sunday after being flown home from Beirut.

An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday against a Lebanese suspect for his links to bombings in Beirut's southern suburbs, reported the National News Agency.

It said that Military Examining Magistrate Imad al-Zein issued the warrant against Hassan R. on charges of carrying out terrorist attacks in the Bir al-Abed and al-Ruwais areas.

A suspect linked to Tuesday's Bir Hassan bombing at the Iranian embassy in Beirut has been arrested, reported An Nahar daily on Friday.

It said that investigations are underway with him in order to reveal all details of the attack and the identity of the suicide bombers.

By nearly all measures, Lebanon should have long ago buckled under the weight of Syria's civil war.

The fighting next door has swamped Lebanon with refugees and has stoked its Sunni-Shiite tensions, as each community in Lebanon lines up in support of its brethren on the rival sides in Syria. That has fueled predictions that deeply divided Lebanon is only one nudge away from collapsing into full-blown sectarian bloodletting of its own.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said deadly bomb attacks against Iran's embassy in Beirut on Tuesday should be "an alarm for all of us".

"The tragedy today... should be an alarm for all of us that we need to deal with and unless we deal with it seriously, it will engulf all of us," Zarif said after talks with his Italian counterpart Emma Bonino in Rome.
