Al-Qaida in Yemen said it released on Sunday 73 soldiers captured by its fighters during battles with government forces in the south of the country.

The terror network said in an emailed statement that the release of the soldiers followed mediation efforts by tribal elders and senior clerics. Relatives of some freed prisoners confirmed the release.

7 Killed as Bus Crashes on Way to Tokyo Disneyland

A bus carrying dozens of holidaymakers has crashed on a highway while heading for Tokyo Disneyland, killing seven passengers.

Police said the other 38 passengers and the 43-year-old driver were injured, 13 of them seriously, in the accident Sunday morning on a highway in Gunma, north of Tokyo.

1 Dead after Storm Blows Down St. Louis Beer Tent

High winds swept through a beer tent where 200 people gathered after a Cardinals game Saturday, killing one and seriously injuring five others. But the owner of the U.S. city of St. Louis bar that hosted the crowd said it was lightning — not wind — that killed the patron.

Seventeen were hospitalized and up to 100 people were treated at the scene after straight-line winds whipped through a large tent outside Kilroy's Sports Bar, near Busch Stadium. The crowd was celebrating after the Cardinals had beaten Milwaukee 7-3, a game that ended about 80 minutes earlier.

Dubai Spends $250M to Get Full Control Of Atlantis

Dubai says it now has full control of the Atlantis resort hotel perched atop its palm-shaped island.

State-run investment firm Istithmar World said late Friday it paid $250 million to buy out business partner Kerzner International Holdings Ltd., which had held a 50 percent stake in the coral-colored hotel. Istithmar already owned half of the property.
