Opposition Coordinates Stances Ahead of Parliamentary Vote of Confidence Sessions
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe opposition has coordinated the stances it would make during parliamentary sessions to discuss the cabinet’s policy statement starting Tuesday, March 14 General-Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soaid said.
Soaid told Voice of Lebanon radio station (93.3) that opposition lawmakers have agreed on the role of each MP during the sessions that are scheduled to take place for three days and are aimed at giving the vote of confidence to Premier Najib Miqati’s government.
March 14 MPs proved that they are free and have a good political performance, he said.
Soaid’s confirmation came after An Nahar daily reported that the opposition lawmakers held closed-door talks on Sunday after a large-scale meeting held by the opposition at Beirut’s Bristol hotel.
According to al-Liwaa daily, the majority of March 14 lawmakers have requested the right to make statements during the parliamentary sessions.
They have agreed to include in their statements the confrontation of Hizbullah’s arms and the alleged “coup” carried out by the March 8 camp against former PM Saad Hariri even if there would be a repetition in the coordinated speeches, al-Liwaa added.
Once again, these shameful liars and traitors seek the help of the whole world against wled baladon. This is no longer unexpected from those who collaborated with the Syrian occupation since Mafioso Rafik Hariri was blessed by Syria to run the country, which he ran to the ground and claims to have built it, but on the heads of its people, or with Israel since 2005 and still are. And then they have the nerve to speak about coexistence. LIARS.
you want us too all carry guns, grow beards and speak Farsi and go against the entire free world including what should be your own brother Arabs and Muslims. Iran is not our fight. Syria is a backward country ruled by a dictator son of a dictator, so dont preach to us about traitors. We stand in peaceful opposition as it should be. Unlike you who use guns, bombs and murder while in opposition. Its our right to be in opposition, respect it and do your best to rule.Almost all of us thought the Hizb's weapons to be an asset against Israel that one day will bring us a fair peacedeal and money when we give them up. Instead we get blood, destruction of property and a new radical islamic program.. thats the treason. in any case, moderate shias will overcome the militant Hizb one day just as the moderate sunnis overcame the extremist Al Qaeda.
well said lebanese!
people who label the others with the terms traitors, sionists or whatever means they have no arguments to give, they just take it the easy way! bark like chiwawas
pure sign of emptiness!
The M14 is completely within its rights to demand that the Mikati government stand down even before its vote of confidence has been held because Hezbollah, the prime mover of this government is already in violation of the terms of the policy statement drafted by the Mikati government for submission to the Parliament for a vote of confidence.
How can a vote of confidence be given to a Council of Ministers and its Policy Statement, when the Policy Statement has already been violated by Hezbollah?
In 2005 when the Siniora Government referred to Hezbollah as a "militia" rather than a "resistence" with regard to UNRES 1559, Hezbollah boycotted and called for the government to resign for violating its policy statement.
M14, which is a genuine Opposition, not in the government, is performing the function of an Opposition by calling out the Hezbollah on this violation of the terms of its own government - in - waiting.
Today's situation is the result of compromising with the devil since the 2005 Cedar revolution. Hezbollah should have been cornered politically since then and not appeased. The big error was striking an electoral alliance with the Hezb in the 2005 parliamentary elections.
It is not too late. The two regimes who perpetrated and instigated most of the subversive actions in Lebanon and the rest of the Middle East have detrimental threats. Assad will have to spend his ever shrinking power in protecting his head and the Iranian regime is desintigrating from within.
Hezbollah is dragging its supporters and its allies into a losing battle. Hopefully most will wisen up before the battle start.
personnaly i m happy that m8 took the power. we will now see if they can do better. true faces will reveal just like the hezb that openly stated that NO gvt will make him obey to laws....
they criticized hariri of going to syria get his orders when the syrians were occupying lebanon and threatening opponents of death, but now lebanon is freed from them and who continues to rush to damascus? wahhab, joumblat aoun hezbollah ... !!!
very ridiculous and pitiful! they say after that that they are independent??? hahaha what a big joke!
It is illegal for Israelis to write comments on Lebanese websites including this English one where very few Lebanese read. If there is a way to ban comments from the Israeli terror state in the South, most comments would disappear starting with "yousef Haddad"
Why all the fuss of M14? They are not in power anymore. SO WHAT? They are acting like if they were the only source of legitimacy for Lebanon. They are not. They lost power due to the stupidity of Saad el Hariri. Let them get over it. Lebanon does not belong to the Hariri family.
Today Lebanon is ruled by a Miqati who is proving to be reasonable, and willing to work for the country. He is trying to do his best while not alienating those who put him in power.
Hezbollah's weapons are like a cancer in the country. What right do they permit themselves to have weapons while everyone else surrendered their weapons? But let us be pragmatic. Hezbollah WILL NOT GIVE THEIR WEAPONS UP. for them to disarm, we have to wait for Iran to crumble, and for the young Shiite Lebanese to get opportunities and start getting real jobs where they can have incomes without having to rely on the Hezb. And the only way to create jobs is to let the ministry work and get off the back of Miqati
