Two men from the northern city of Tripoli were kidnapped while heading to Beirut's Rafik Hariri International Airport at dawn Sunday but they were released after a few hours.

Contact with Ramez and Rajab al-Saidi was lost at dawn Sunday after they reached the area near the airport, their brother told MTV.

The young men were heading to the airport to pick up their father, said the state-run National News Agency.

But the abductees were released around noon Sunday and headed back to their Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood in Tripoli, NNA said.

According to MTV, the men were held by Hizbullah members at a security checkpoint on the airport road.

A Turkish pilot and co-pilot were kidnapped on Aug. 9 by unidentified assailants while heading from the airport to a hotel in the Lebanese capital.

Who would dare to take down Berri's 6 meter beautiful portrait strategically located to welcome all incoming passengers! Only yesterday he was talking about the State and institutions:)

the airport should be a safe area--the army should be deployed there and any terrorist roadblocks should be torn down immediately. And yes, hizb iran is a terrorist organization, since we are assuming that the political wing isn't the one mmanning these checkpoints.

Denmark's ministry of foreign affairs now also put out an advisory against all travel to Lebanon. Until now they have been keeping it to the far South, Tripoli and parts of the Bekaa, but it's the entire country. Sad affairs.

Well FT said it best a few weeks ago, m8 doesn't care about the budget or showing revenue as long as they implement their principals.

Seems like that includes limiting tourism entirely. They may as well have signs up that say "come to Lebanon - famous for the Zoaiters, Meqdads, HA terrorists, and General Claoun."
