Katyusha Fired from Syria Hits al-Qasr as Shells Strike Akkar Towns

The agency did not say whether or not the shelling caused any casualties or damage.
“A rocket fired from the positions of the armed opposition in Syria's Qusayr hit the Lebanese town of al-Qasr,” the Beirut-based, pan-Arab television al-Mayadeen said.
Meanwhile, OTV said two shells fired by Syrian rebels landed in al-Qasr.
Later on Sunday, NNA said six shells fired from Syria landed on the Lebanese bank of the Grand River between the Akkar towns of al-Dabbabiyeh and al-Noura.
On April 14, two people were killed and five others were wounded when rockets fired from Syria hit al-Qasr and and the nearby town of Hawsh al-Sayyed Ali in the Hermel District.
The two-year long conflict in Syria has increasingly spilled over into Lebanon, with cross-border shelling in the north and east.
Israel fires on Syria, the Lebanese Foreign Minister complains.
Syria fires on Lebanon, the Lebanese Foreign Minister remains silent.
Can someone please explain this to a stupid outsider?
Lebanese are overly compassionate people. We fear and suffer for others, and we stand stubbornly and mightily whenever faced by foreign acts of aggression. To our defense, Our country is possibly the most if not one of the most diverse countries on this plant. The immigrants that come to Lebanon, either as refugees or opportunistic people completely dwarf the numbers and differences found in the latinos, asian and europeans you see entering the U.S or arabs/chinese and eastern Europeans entering EU. So, for a country that experienced numerous internal conflicts and yet maintains the same borders, name and flag, we're pretty fucking proud of who we are, and pretty much feel sorry for everyone else. That's as logical as it gets.
As you put it, "our country is probably the most if not one of the most diverse countries on this planet".
Instead of "our country" you could have written "Israel", so it seems to me that Lebanon and Israel have more in common than that which divides.
Now, as against the late 1980's, there is no Syrian army dominating Lebanon and forcing it to tear up the peace agreement with Israel.
Now with the upcoming high income expected by both countries from their off shore natural gas fields.
Now is the time for peace.
why doesn't our army or hizb fire back ..it doesn't matter who fired ..the rebels or the regime.
the_roar..they haven't been firing any protest letters ..the president wants to and the foreign minister doesn't.dysfunctional goverment.
Josh - what history do you refer to prove your point? Nothing! If saddam loathed anyone more than the Kuwaiti regime, it is the Assad regime who supported the extremist regime in iran in its war against iraq and then supported the "sunni wahhabi" and the americans in the 1991 gulf war.
