Shahhal Says Might Issue Jihad Fatwa against 'Sunni Attackers', Calls Army to 'Correct Path'

Salafist cleric Dai al-Islam al-Shahhal called on the army on Saturday to “correct its performance”, threatening to issue a fatwa that calls for jihad against those “slandering Sunnis”.
“We urge the army to change its path to preserve the country' security,” al-Shahhal said in a press conference during which he commented on Friday's incident in the Bekaa town of Majdal Anjar.
He asked: “Are the army’s statements an execution of Iranian and Syrian orders?”
Al-Shahhal stated that “Sunnis are the targeted sect behind the deaths of men in northern Lebanon and border towns”.
Several roads were blocked in the northern city of Tripoli on Friday in protest at a dispute that erupted between army troops and the bodyguards of al-Shahhal in Majdal Anjar.
“If nothing changes, I might issue a Fatwa calling for jihad against the attackers of the Sunni sect,” he warned.
Commenting on the situation of the neighboring country and its repercussions on Lebanon, the Salafist cleric warned that “Hizbullah's continuous suppression of the Syrian revolution might lead to a civil war in Lebanon”.
“Its support to the criminal regime of President Bashar Assad might have severe consequences on Lebanon,” he noted.
He called on the cabinet not to take a “double-standard in respect to the Syrian issue by penalizing some acts while giving the right of interference to other factions”.
“The government, which is under the control of Hizbullah, should stop the party from targeting Syrians in their country and in Lebanon,” he stated.

Sunni fatwa, Shiite fatwa enough with this none sense already. You are dragging the country into the abyss with this religious edict stuff. When will Sunni and Shiite masses see these edicts - fatwas - for what they really are namely the tools for men like Shahhal and Nasrallah to control the minds of their followers. Use your brains people please and don't give me the argument that the Sunnis of Lebanon are the targeted sect and that's why. Most Sunnis know that Iran and HA are targeting them but you don't see them acting like thugs. Only a small minority is giving the Sunnis a bad name.

now the questions is as follows:
we are going towards civil war if the behavior of hizbushaitan and their fpm allies remains as is, is this what we want for Lebanon?
it is about time everyone realizes that extremism begets extremism, and both are bad for us Lebanese.

I think we should have a "Fatwa Day" where everyone can just issue their own Fatwas and a competition could be held for the most original or ridiculous fatwa. Maybe we can even have a category for the most useful fatwa -e.g. a fatwa against anyone who slanders the environment by throwing trash out the car window.

A fatwa is based on shariah law and only the one who has this knowledge is in a position to give a verdict. You can't do brain surgery without the proper knowledge.
