Lebanese Taekwondo Fighter Defeated in Olympics Quarterfinal

Andrea Paoli, the Lebanese Taekwondo fighter, was eliminated on Thursday from the 57kg taekwondo Olympics competition following a defeat to Chinese Taipei’s Li-Cheng Tseng in the quarterfinal.

She was defeated 2-5 during the match that was held on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, she qualified to the quarterfinal following a 4-2 win over Cuba's Nidia Munoz.

Paoli is the first female athlete to qualify in taekwondo for the Olympics for Lebanon.

I met Andrea at the Beirut airport on her way to the Olympics. What a spirit what a girl! She's made us proud! Well done Andrea!
