Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said Saturday that the killing of Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in an air strike in the Lebanese capital will bring about Israel's "destruction."

"We warn the leaders of the occupying regime that the unjust bloodshed... especially of Hezbollah's secretary general, martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, will bring about their destruction," Iran's ISNA news agency quoted Aref as saying.

The way this will work: Hezbollah had not challenged Lebanon's constitutional Article 24's set-aside of half of parliamentary seats to Christians. Any future alignment of Shia political power, perhaps in league with Sunnis, will target Article 24. Israel has left no other outlet. I am assuming that it was Nasrallah's personal choice to not challenge Lebanon's state racism. When Israel loses its partner in state racism to the north, Israel will consider more deeply its own commitment to state racism. I think that will be enough to convince people that Jews serve God, and are not a lynch mob.
