Macron Calls National Security Meeting to Discuss Israeli Spyware
French President Emmanuel Macron has called a national security meeting on Thursday morning to discuss the Israeli-made Pegasus spyware after reports about its use in France emerged this week, government spokesman Gabriel Attal said.
"The president is following this subject closely and takes it very seriously," Attal told France Inter radio, adding that the unscheduled national security meeting would be "dedicated to the Pegasus issue and the question of cybersecurity."
It appears that Israel can do anything it wants without regards to international outcry. As much as this is outrageous, this much it's a reality that no one could really deny. Because of this, I for one believe in the necessity of Lebanon courting Israel and striking peace with it, which entail sea and land border demarcation, establishing peace with a neighbor, and then use this peace to foster Palestinian cause within the Arab community. Israel is a powerful country with nuclear capabilities and no one could touch it without burning his hands. It's a reality that the Gulf Arab states have come belatedly to understand. If you can't beat your enemy, court him at least to get what you can, instead of remaining in a state of war with him.
