More than 12 people were injured on Wednesday morning when several military vehicles were involved in a pileup on the Antelias-Jal el-Dib highway, north of Beirut.

The Traffic Management Center said five vehicles smashed into each other, leaving 13 people injured.

TMC did not specify if the vehicles belonged to the army and if the wounded were military personnel.

But Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) said the Red Cross treated and transported 14 people involved in the accident which happened during heavy rain.

The pileup caused bumper-to-bumper traffic during the morning rush hour.

agree with this. if anything we need LESS roads, just make the available ones more efficient. and no more intentional time wasting (10 years to fix rond point mkalles? ...)

only solution is to enforce the road rules.

FT, doesn't that remind you of Bachir Gemayel's visions? It's a big shame that nothing has been done yet, and to think of it, if we bridged the mountains together, from North to South, if the GBA (Greater Beirut Area) was served by a proper metro system supported by a ntewrok of multi storey parking systems, all these traffic jams wouldn't be happening. But we need to remember, that the average Lebanese brain doesn't help much either, he or she would park their cars right next to their beds if they could, so brains must change too.

Terrorist, we also need to change the very brains of the Lebanese, that my friend is where the inertia resides.
