Army Denies Syria-Based Terrorists Kidnapped Soldiers in Brital
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe army command denied on Monday that terrorists have infiltrated Lebanese territories in the eastern Bekaa Valley and kidnapped more soldiers.
The denial was made to the state-run National News Agency.
It came after al-Jazeera TV network said an officer and three soldiers were seized by armed men from Syria after they infiltrated the town of Brital that lies in the district of Baalbek.
In October, several Hizbullah members were killed in clashes with extremist groups that infiltrated Brital.
The Syria-based al-Nusra Front and Islamic State group are already holding some 20 Lebanese soldiers and policemen captive after kidnapping them in August during a cross-border raid.
IS beheaded two and the Nusra Front shot dead a third in August and September.
Policemen Ali Bazzal was on Friday the fourth captive soldier to die after al-Nusra said in a statement published on its official Twitter account that it shot him dead.
