The third series of the DGTL#U Forum organized by Al-Iktissad-Wal-Aamal group will take place on the 4th and 5th of December 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beirut under the patronage of HE Mr. Boutros Harb, Minister of Telecommunications in Lebanon. This yearو the topics will include discussions on transitioning to a cashless economy, how banks and retailers are adopting digital technologies and adapting to digital disruptions in their businesses. The forum will also feature on its second day an open discussion with HE Mr. Boutros Harb.
The forum comes at a time when the proliferation of smart phones in Lebanon reached 70% while mobile subscription reached 92% and the percentage of the population holding bank accounts stands at 70%.
Today questions are arising to the future potentials of digital banking, innovations in cards and payments and the future of money. At the same time this raises concerns regarding security, and what new digital disruptions in mobile and social media will have on banking and retail in the future. All these topics and more will be discussed by prominent speakers in addition to several workshops covering digital marketing on a budget, the important of visual marketing and an assessment of brand activities on social media.
