Bader Launches Startup Cup Business Competition
Bader Young Entrepreneurs Program is launching its Startup Cup Business Competition for the second year in a row.
The StartUp Cup business competition aims to motivate Lebanese people who have entrepreneurial ideas or products to present them and to benefit from a mentorship program that will help turn their ideas into money-making businesses.
Applicants who make it through the first rounds will receive advice and expertise on various aspects of their business models, through regular milestones that help the entrepreneur achieve their startup key phases efficiently.
Applications are open to Lebanese in and out of Lebanon, and applicants will go through gradual elimination over the course of 6 months (while working with their mentors). The competition's duration is meant to help Bader clearly see which startups are showing the most progress. Such evidence of progress is used as indicator for identifying the winners.
The 3 winners will finally be chosen during the 2014 Global Entrepreneurship Week, in November, based on 3 main conditions: innovation, scalability and likeliness of creating new job opportunities in Lebanon.
The winners will receive over 100,000,000 LBP worth of cash and in-kind prizes such as cash, 6 months of incubation at Coworking+961, $20,000 worth of online advertising offered by Naharnet, and 50% and 33% worth of scholarships by Amideast Lebanon to attend the Start/Grow My Business Workshop.
No fees are required. No equity from the startups is taken. Application deadline is May 15. The application link can be found here, with more explanations if needed.
