One person was killed and another injured in gunbattles that rocked the northern city of Tripoli on Saturday night, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said Sunday that Omar Hmaidan succumbed to his injures, while another person from the Habib family was wounded in the clashes that pitted rival families in the city's internal markets.

Several cars were torched and houses and shops were damaged by gunfire and shrapnel of rockets, the agency said.

The army contained the fighting and chased the gunmen, it said.

NNA added that the military set up checkpoints to prevent the renewal of tension.

I thought I read somewhere that General Qahwagi, the commander of the greatest Hands-Tied Lebanese Army (thanks to the Sanni lunatic politicians of Sanni First and the Christian Sanni yes-sir-ees of Farts 14 bandittos) comforted us a day or so ago by revealing there won't be any more fighting in Tripoli. Who thought Samer Hanna will turn out, thanks to these lunatics, into an ever-expanding family of Samer Hannas to the point that they no longer mention that "accidental" incident! yalli ba3do, crazies. takbir
