Bassil Hits Back at Geagea: Who Allowed You to Renounce Our Rights

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Energy and Water Minister Jebran Bassil on Friday hit back at Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, without naming him, over remarks made by the latter earlier in the day on the issue of Lebanon’s maritime resources.

“Who allowed him (Geagea) to renounce our rights and jeopardize Lebanon’s borders, sovereignty and resources?” Bassil asked rhetorically.

Earlier on Friday, Geagea slammed Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s recent speech in which he vowed that his party would retaliate against any Israeli attack on Lebanon’s future oil and gas installations.

“Who appointed you, Sayyed Nasrallah, as the guardian of the Lebanese people’s rights?” Geagea said.

“I agree with Sayyed Nasrallah on several points, but only the Lebanese state institutions can defend my rights and not an illegitimate power,” Geagea added.

Defending Nasrallah, Bassil said “the question should not be addressed to someone who is trying to defend these rights, but to those who are squandering these resources.”

Following talks with Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh, Bassil added: “We have not started oil exploration since 2010 until now because a law” on oil exploration has not been approved up till now.

He also accused Saad Hariri’s government of intentionally delaying the drafting of the law.

“Under the new government, a new law is being drafted without delay, that’s why no one should … start launching accusations in this regard,” Bassil noted.

What is this man talking about? Geagea made no mention of oil or drilling. He was simply commenting on how Nasrallah has taken it upon himself to defend our oil rights. And Geagea is correct. He needs to know his boundaries. His armed thugs are not the army. It is the army's job to protect us not his. He has no right to drag the entire country into a conflict with Israel.

@Bigdig - It shows your true character when all you can do is post insults and personal attacks.

Boy, Nasrallah must really have a low opinion of Geagea to send out this chiwawah to respond to Geagea. Yip, yip.

This MORON should know very well the meaning of "Squandring", Thanks to his "Patriotic" Father-In-Law, they have both squandered enough of our money. Where did they get all their Fortunes when they both came from Modest Wealth families ?

This underage imbecile should would have been a third rate failed engineer had his father in law not been the General President Gemayel appointed to the office of Prime Minister. Soon all those voices will be forgotten, when the Syrian doctor is removed from office.

I do notice how when Sayyed Hassan speaks, leaders of parties tend to comment yet when Geagea speaks, only secondary representatives reply if he deserves an answer. Well Bassil, god bless you. Geagea, did your french and Israel friends give us missiles to reach 100KM+ into the sea? How will we protect our resources? We ran out of ammunition against militantsina camp and our army should protect Lebanon from Israel? Wake up from your trip you worthless leader, the Aoun-Shia alliance will bring Lebanon to new heights and your Iran-Syria rhetoric is too weak, even from you Geagea.

In principle, Geagea is right, Only Government instituitions should be ruling the country. Ministers and politicians are elected for that purpose. Fugitives militias and terrorist organisations should stay out of politics. Hizbullah has brough Lebanon to its knees, and are bound to destry it.

Bassil's reply is worthless ....Geagea was asking the army to protect the lebanese resources , this Syrian thug wants a TV other than Otv and "what is wrong when asking the goverment to protect lebanon " !!!

Accord Libano-Iranien.

Good lord he is every bit as demented as his father in law.

Geagea made a correct observation and this fool creats a straw man to attack.

If he was sent out by Nasrallah it is becasue anyone trying to confront Geagea's correct statement was going to look an ass so why not use a peon.

Little quiz : you have to guess who i am ?
- I had nothing till my crazy father in law insisted and threathened everybody with the power of his new allies so i can get a position in the governement.

- I have been a minister of telecommunications , i have established new phone lines ( 71 ) resulting in a more important jamming of the cellular systems so i can sell about a million new lines and make money

- I have lost elections in 2009, but thanks once again to my crazy father-in-law, i have once again cheated the lebanese and got my way through to the ministery of energy

- I have put compagnies in the name of my wife and her sister, thinking nobody would catch since i am supposed to be an honest man.

- I work as well full time for the great big zionist-iranio-syrian agent that hides in sewers since 2006

- I have a great friend of our movement caught spying for Israel early 2010

Who am i ? If you guess you will get free electricity like my new friends in the south

I'm from Batoun . i know how this Syrian thug got to power and i know how he and his father in law got their money they are talking about fixing corruption let's ask Iran and Syria where the FPM got 31 million dollars in Europe in less then 3 years maybe they should look in the mirror before looking at others
