The French resistance had achievable and noble goals, they were not fighting to agress and to drive all the Germans out of Europe, but to liberate their country from nazi Germany. They were not fighting against the Jews (like Hizbollah) but against a racist a supremacist power (like Iran).

Nowadays the courageous Shia people who stands against the nazi party of Hizbullah (Hizbullah even have the same salute than Hitler followers) are the real resistant. Hizbullah supporters are like the French who collaborated with the nazi: serving a racist supremacist ideology against their own country.

If it was a noble victory, liberating the south. Then there is no need for a resistance because Israel is over the Otherside of the border.

It seems you are the aggressors provoking the 2006 war.

We don't need you know more hand it over to LAF (WEAPONS) if you want the French to arm the LAF.

if these French weapons are old used & petty. HA should give the weapons to Them.

Thumb Kalzyturks 14:53 ,2014 آذار 06

Southern,

Ok for argument's sake I agree with you & that the south was liberated by the resistance.

Today really is nothing to resist. Why do we still need the resistance when the army is there? & Israel is not in Lebanon?

Thumb lebanon_first 17:17 ,2014 آذار 06

kalzy... Why did u stop before the Z?

We have to zip into the LAF.

Thumb -phoenix1 19:45 ,2014 آذار 06

Hey guys wait a while. Point 1, The resistance did not liberate France, it helped, but had it not been the sheer weight of Uncle Sam, France would still be chanting Ubber Alles and we Lebanese would still be sent as fodder for soap production. Then Israel is not Israel but the mama and papa of uncle Sam himself, so let's leave this talk of defeating Uncle Sam's parents and let's be pragmatic and let's tackle Israel for peace. Egypt and Jordan have had peace for decades and done without a shot, even Morsi, the loser of the Korsi refused to imperil this deal. Then Israel said it many times, let's have peace, but of course, Peace is something Hezbollah cannot bear to hear, because that would mean its total demise including those who keep festering HA to continue their conflict by proxy. The day that Putin breaks off with Israel will be the day I will stuff my argument in a closet.

Phoenix is right.

Giving a peace a chance is the only solution.
Joining the LAF is the solution.

Let the states run their cause.

Playing the Israeli western or sectarian cards? Is not going to work.

A divided Lebanon is playing into the enemies hand.

Let's stick behind the president who ever it may be.

And yet another example is how the Egyptians have recently expressed interest in Russian weaponry and the Israelis have already begun to tell against it claiming it undermines the treaty. So basically, in israels eyes, the peace treaty means it's partner can live in peace as long as it stays weaker. We all know just how advanced Israeli weaponry is. But when Egypt tries to get their hands on some of these advanced weapons such as the S300, the Israelis cry foul (with respect to the treaty). Do you see what I'm saying? Is this really living in peace?

Missing hammouds 02:21 ,2014 آذار 07

Phoenix. What Jordan and Egypt have with Israel isn't really peace. It's submission. It's conditional peace. They have to abide by certain rules. For example, the Sinai is not really under Egyptian control, do you agree? For there to be any Egyptian troop movement in the Sinai they must request the permission of Israel. But Israel can conduct troop movement along its border without notifying the Egyptians. Is this peace? Another example is the natural gas.

@Southern : to my knowledge, the french resistance wasn't armed by Iran and did not obey their orders.

Also, it was composed of French PATRIOTS representing the French Social Fabric.

Your fake resistance does not represent the Lebanese social fabric. It's a SHIITE Resistance and lie !

Thumb Bandoul 18:42 ,2014 آذار 06

The French resistance was effective because it had allegiance to itself and it was comprised of patriots fighting the Nazis instead of terrorists proclaiming to be the Party of God on earth and killing in his name on foreign soil.

Thumb geha 18:45 ,2014 آذار 06

and who said iran can be trusted?
who said the copy we have of the Iranian guard can be trusted?
they have never honored any agreement made with the Lebanese people :) they cannot be trusted and they have no honor.

Southern, ya khaye, France was then occupied by Nazi Germany, the puppet Marshall Petain was leading France, De Gaul was in exile, mostly in the UK and all of France was a resistance against the Nazis. But the part you did not notice brother, was when the war ended, the resistance too ended and paved the way for a strong powerful state, the one that now leads the EU, together with its former enemy, Germany. Do kindly draw a parallel with our situation, and you will see how quickly Lebanon will recover and become the most powerful economy of the region. You see all these little desert Sheikhdoms like the UAE and Qatar, they're prosperous because we are sleeping.

Thumb .mowaten. 19:32 ,2014 آذار 06

have you ever wondered why these incursions continue. It's not because of the
Lebanese government & it's LAF.

these daily incursions are aimed at a particular group. The hostility is between a state & a group. Not the whole of Lebanon.

Thumb Kalzyturks 21:14 ,2014 آذار 06

SOUTHERN

A treaty can always be made with states but not with a group.

Israel recognises the state government but not armed groups.

Let's take Egypt for example yes Israel did an incursion into Egypt sinnai region not to attack the government or military but to go after militant groups who attacked.

Thumb Kalzyturks 12:43 ,2014 آذار 06

Group remains armed but should be another special arm of the LAF. Activated only when Israel threatens the security of Lebanon.

Rather than smuggle the arms it can be legally entered into Lebanon.

Thumb Kalzyturks 15:01 ,2014 آذار 06

Flamethrower

Ok let's say the weapons are secretly delivered into the country.

The other point said that the group should not be disarmed. But be remained armed & being a special arm of LAF. operational & activated when Israel threatens Lebanon security.

rather than operating independent but under the guide of the Lebanese government & army.

the question that is never answered is why Hezb insist on fighting israel from Lebanon... why not from Syria? If the aim is to liberate occupied territories then the Golans are occupied, this is where they should be acting. Is Assad afraid that his castle will be destroyed the way Lebanon was destroyed over and over again?

Default-user-icon dutchdingo (ضيف) 17:18 ,2014 آذار 06

You'd find that Israel would probably allow the LAF more advanced weaponry if it did not fear it falling into the hands of the Hezbollah (who would use any weaponry they could in an offensive war against Israel). Israel allows other neighbors such as Egypt, Jordan to have other weaponry since there are active security pacts in place.

Hezbollah's "resistance" is a self-fulfilling prophecy these days. They only resist Israeli aggression that they have instigated. Without Hezbollah around, and the Lebanese PEOPLE would all sleep a little better. Does anyone really fear an Israeli invasion of Lebanon?

Thumb FlameCatcher 17:39 ,2014 آذار 06

Flexible solution = clear disarmament plan and schedule from Hezbollah

here is my actual reply, for reference:
you're peddling in all directions to avoid facing facts. whether or not it is a militia has nothing to do with nationality. if m14 does not officially have a militia, but rather are hypocrite and rely on groups they finance and support indirectly, it does not maek them more lebanese.
rafic hariri was a saudi product, he came here with their billions and started taking over the country. his saudi-born son inherited his throne and lives now on king abdullah's lap, sending tweets to his goons here to tell them the sugga daddy's latest fantasies. they cant name a prime minister without him going to saudi to get the king blessing... you call that lebanese? sovereign? wleik zahheit you make a feel ashamed to be lebanese if that's what being lebanese is.
i'd rather be proud of a resistance that fears no one and obeys only values and moral principles.

Thumb -phoenix1 19:15 ,2014 آذار 06

No brother Roar, this is the picture of a proud man, who can stand tall with any world leader and talk about bilateral relationships. It's been a very long time since a president of ours stood there with top world leaders and discuss Lebanon. Please compare that with old man Aoun, who a little while after he was spirited out of Lebanon and into France was shot with his other deserter general smoking cigars whilst their soldiers and commanders were slaughtered in cold blood by the Syrian dogs. But I guess anything that Suleiman will do will always be met with you guys' wrath. I understand that bro, Aoun won't be taking such photo ops.

Thumb -phoenix1 19:54 ,2014 آذار 06

Point taken Roar, but I can tell you one thing, if today we Lebanese by and large can sleep at night, that's because some decent people like Suleiman are working to keep us at peace with each other. I hate to think if Aoun was right now president, most probably we Lebanese would have decimated each other to the bone marrow. A decent man, that's all, and thanks God for that. One day you could be thanking this man because it would be because of him, and a few good brave men that Lebanon would remain on the map.

Thumb .mowaten. 19:37 ,2014 آذار 06

Whatever claims you have against M8 politics/affiliations/etc...you can lay them on Lebanese Judiciary feet and they will decide wether their political practices are illegal, until you & M14 press charges against M8 - Zip it.

Thumb -phoenix1 19:48 ,2014 آذار 06

FT, bro, those who want to keep holding on the Hezbollah have their own parties prioritized over the state. Then one question ya habibi ya khaye, where you there present with the gentlemen picture to tell us that Suleiman was there begging? I mean bro, debating and supposing don't normally go hand in glove, No?

Thumb -phoenix1 19:50 ,2014 آذار 06

Thumb geha 20:27 ,2014 آذار 06

what is this BS you are trying to sell?

go to iran as you definitely have nothing to do with Lebanon. plain filth.
