Saudi Arabia beheaded on Monday in Riyadh one of its nationals convicted of stabbing to death a fellow Saudi, the interior ministry said.

Khaled bin Hamad stabbed to death Abdul Mohsen bin Othman after a dispute between them, the ministry said in a statement carried by SPA state news agency.

The second Saudi deputy Prime Minister Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz al-Saud announced on Sunday that Saudi Arabia is keen on the presence of Lebanese citizens on its territories, denying claims that it intends to withdraw deposits from Lebanon's banks.

“KSA is keen on maintaining the best relations with Lebanon,” Prince Muqrem said after meeting with a delegation of heads of the country's economic committees in Riyadh, adding that Lebanese presence on its territories is appreciated by everyone in the kingdom, on top of them is King Abdullah.

A Saudi court on Saturday dissolved a human rights group and handed down heavy jail terms to two of its members, Agence France Presse reported.

The judge at the criminal court in Riyadh, in delivering his verdict ordered "the dissolution of the Saudi Association of Civil and Political Rights (ACPRA), for failing to obtain authorization, and the seizure of its assets."

Finance Minister Mohammed al-Safadi denied on Saturday that Saudi investors pulled deposits from Lebanese banks.

“The Lebanese banking system guarantees the free movement of capital and confidentiality, therefor, investors have the right to manage their money however they like,” Safadi said.

The revival of Lebanese ties with Gulf states should come by imposing the appropriate measures to halt interference in the local affairs of the neighboring country Syria, al-Mustaqbal MP Jamal al-Jarrah said on Thursday.

The lawmaker called on officials to abide by the dissociation policy, which is stated in the Baabda declaration.

The United Arab Emirates reiterated warnings to its citizens not to travel to Lebanon over security fears, media reports said on Thursday.

According to al-Akhbar newspaper, UAE called on citizens who wish to head to Lebanon to fill an application that confirms that their visit to Beirut is on their own responsibility.

Iran rejected Tuesday claims by the Gulf Cooperation Council that it is interfering in the grouping's internal affairs, insisting that Tehran stays away from domestic issues of other countries.

"Iran's intervention in Bahrain's affairs is a claim contrary to reality and it is made in order to escape from the real problems and will bear no results," Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said at his weekly press conference.

Washington will work to "empower" Syria's opposition, its top diplomat said Monday in Riyadh where he held discussions on Iran's nuclear ambitions and met with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, on his first tour of the Gulf since taking office, stressed that there was no question of arming the opposition, even as his Saudi counterpart insisted on the right of Syrians to self-defense.

The Saudi embassy in Lebanon called on its citizens on Friday to take precautions in the country.

"We urge Saudi citizens in Lebanon to limit their movements and to communicate with the embassy when necessary,” it said.

Saudi Arabia has been supplying Syrian rebels battling the regime of President Bashar Assad with arms bought from Croatia, according to The New York Times.

Citing unnamed U.S. and western officials, the newspaper reported late Monday that the Saudi-financed "large purchase of infantry weapons" was part of an "undeclared surplus" of arms left over from the Balkan wars in the 1990s and that they began reaching anti-regime fighters via Jordan in December.
