U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly on Monday met with top Saudi officials and stressed the importance of international support for the Lebanese Army, according to a statement issued by his office.

“He met with senior Saudi officials, including the Second Deputy Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz, and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz,” said the statement.

The Saudi cabinet on Monday condemned the bombing that rocked Haret Hreik and the blast that killed former minister Mohammed Shatah, describing them as “terrorist” attacks.

A Saudi court has jailed five people for up to 30 years on charges including plotting to blow up an oil refinery on behalf of Al-Qaida, state media reported Monday.

The official SPA news agency gave no details of when the alleged plot against the refinery in the Red Sea port of Yanbu took place.

Human Body Parts 'Fall from Sky' in Saudi

Human body parts fell from the sky in the city of Jeddah Sunday, with police saying they could be the remains of a person trapped in an airplane's wheel bay.

"Police received a telephone call at 2:30 am from a witness reporting the fall of human remains at an intersection in Mushrefa neighborhood" in the Red Sea city, spokesman Nawaf bin Naser al-Bouq said in a statement.

Asiri: Al-Majed's Family Submitted Request for Repatriation of His Body

The family of Saudi national Majed al-Majed, the chief of a Qaida-linked group who died Saturday in Lebanon, has submitted a request to the Saudi foreign ministry for the repatriation of his body, Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri announced Sunday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif' announced on Friday that Tehran will send a delegation to Lebanon to take part in the investigation with Majed al-Majed, the Saudi national suspected of being behind the bombings of Iran's embassy in Beirut.

"Iran decided to send a delegation to Beirut to participate in the investigation with al-Majed because he played a role in threatening stability and in killing two Iranian employees at the embassy and several Lebanese nationals,” Zarif explained.
