A Saudi Arabian Airlines jetliner veered off the runway at the Philippines' main international airport on Tuesday, causing a delay in at least 11 flights, airport officials said.

None of the 298 passengers on the Boeing 747-400 plane were hurt after the landing gear got stuck in mud near the runway, but fire and rescue teams had to lift it out and tow it away, said airport spokeswoman Jen Franco.

France said Tuesday it would move quickly to answer a call from Lebanon for faster arms deliveries as it battles Islamist militants on the Syrian border.

"France is fully committed to supporting the Lebanese army, a pillar of stability and unity in Lebanon," deputy foreign ministry spokesman Vincent Floreani said.

A Saudi man was beheaded Tuesday for torturing and beating his two-year-old boy to death, while another was executed for practicing sorcery, the interior ministry said.

Two people aboard a gyrocopter were killed Sunday when the light aircraft crashed in the Saudi Red Sea city of Jeddah, aviation authorities said.

The "gyrocopter crashed and caught fire near the runway at Sama aviation club in Jeddah... killing two people on board," the authorities said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat called on Saturday on the Arab countries to kick off a dialogue with foreign states to confront terrorism.

“Saudi Arabia should lead a dialogue with Iran and Turkey in order to fight terrorism that is committing crimes in the name of Islam, displacing Christians from the Iraqi state of Mosul and destroying the Arab and Islam diversity,” Jumblat told al-Mustaqbal newspaper.

Al-Mustaqbal movement leader MP Saad Hariri on Friday lauded a speech by Saudi King Abdullah, saying it “raised the alarm” over the threats of terrorism in the region and the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.

In a statement issued only two hours after the monarch delivered his address, Hariri described the king's remarks as “historic and highly important,” saying they “accurately reflect the painful situation that the Arab region is going through due to the proliferation of terrorism.”

Saudi King Abdullah said Friday that world silence over Israeli "war crimes" in the Gaza Strip was "inexcusable" and would only breed more violence in the future.

"We see the blood of our brothers in Palestine being shed in collective massacres that have spared nobody, and in war crimes against humanity," the king said in a speech carried by state news agency SPA.

Yemen has repatriated eight Saudis wanted for suspected links to Al-Qaida, the kingdom's interior ministry announced on Thursday, in the second handover of its kind since February.

"As part of joint efforts between security services in the two countries, the kingdom has received eight Saudis wanted" for joining Al-Qaida in Yemen, a ministry spokesman said, quoted by official news agency SPA.
