A Palestinian detainee on hunger strike in an Israeli jail for 50 days is now "at immediate risk" of death, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned Friday.

The ICRC said Mohammed Allaan was in critical condition in an Israeli hospital and called on the authorities to allow an immediate family visit.

An explosion that ripped through a house in the southern Gaza Strip Thursday killed four people and wounded dozens, an official said, but the cause of the blast was unclear.

"Four Palestinians were killed and 30 others wounded" in a blast inside a house in Al-Shabura (refugee) camp near Rafah, Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said, updating an earlier toll of two.

The EU urged Israel Friday to show "zero tolerance" for settler violence after an arson attack blamed on settlers in the occupied West Bank left a Palestinian toddler dead.

"The Israeli authorities should ... take resolute measures to protect the local population. We call for full accountability, effective law enforcement and zero tolerance for settler violence," a spokesperson for EU foreign affairs head Federica Mogeherini said in a statement.

A young Palestinian man died on Tuesday after being badly beaten in an "exorcism", medical and police sources in the West Bank town of Hebron said.

The family of the 19-year-old with psychological problems had called in two "healers", a man and a woman, who beat the young man to drive out evil "spirits", Palestinian police sources said.

A French prosecutor on Tuesday said there was no case to answer regarding the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, whose widow alleges he was poisoned.

"The prosecution gave the opinion that the case should be dismissed," the prosecutor's office told AFP.

A Palestinian who injured four Israeli border policewomen and a civilian when he drove his car into them was sentenced Sunday to 25 years in prison, the Israeli justice ministry said.

Court documents released by the ministry said that Mohammed Sleiman, from Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, admitted to five counts of attempted murder in a plea bargain.

Palestinian forces have arrested around 100 Hamas members in the West Bank, a security official said Friday, raising tension between the Islamist movement and its Ramallah-based rivals.

The people, arrested overnight, "intended to carry out attacks against the Palestinian Authority (PA)," the official said, without elaborating.

Mohammed Abu Khder, 16, was abducted and killed on July 2, 2014, weeks after the kidnap and murder of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank.

Israel snubbed a United Nations Human Rights Council session Monday debating a scathing report detailing likely war crimes committed during last year's Gaza war, with Israel's ambassador slamming the body as "morally flawed."

"I am out here and not in there because the Human Rights Council has abandoned fairness, has become morally flawed and has entirely politicized its concern for universal human rights," Israel's representative to the council Eviatar Manor told reporters outside the council chambers at the U.N. in Geneva.
