Thief Hides in Suitcase To Steal Bags in Spanish Airport Bus

A flexible thief squeezed into a large suitcase and then emerged to plunder valuables from other bags while inside the luggage compartment of a Spanish airport bus, police say.

The thief had a partner who would buy a bus ticket and place the suitcase in a bus from Girona airport to Barcelona in northeastern Spain, police said in a statement late Tuesday.

Vietnam Family Doused with Acid at Birthday Party

Vietnamese police and state-run media say a man threw two large cans of acid at a woman who rejected his marriage proposal and at seven of her relatives during a child's birthday party.

Officer Nguyen Huy Thang of Dong Nai province says the 54-year-old man is in police detention while being treated at a hospital for minor injuries following the attack Sunday night.

Watermelons Block Damour Highway

A pick-up hauling watermelons overturned on the Damour highway linking the south with Beirut, throwing the fruits on the road and causing a huge traffic, the National News Agency reported Wednesday.

The accident at 9:00 am shut down the highway for an hour through the morning rush, while Internal Security Forces worked along with the driver to clear the scene.
