Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that municipal elections will not happen without including the south where Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging daily cross-border fire.
"Geagea has to understand that I will not separate the south from Lebanon," Berri said in response to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea who called Tuesday for timely municipal elections, despite the daily clashes in south Lebanon.

Hezbollah on Tuesday fired rockets at Israel's Meron air control base and the Beit Hillel military base in response to Israeli drone strikes that killed two of its military commanders in the southern towns of Ain Baal and Shehabiyeh.
The Israeli army and a source close to Hezbollah confirmed that a military commander was killed in the Ain Baal strike.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea blamed Tuesday the so-called "Axis of Defiance" and its allies of obstructing anew the municipal elections in Lebanon.

Hezbollah detonated Monday several explosive devices, inflicting casualties among an Israeli infantry brigade as it crossed the Lebanese-Israeli border.
The group said in a statement that it had planted the devices in the Tal Ismail area on the Lebanese side of the border and that it detonated the devices when a Golani Brigade force unit tried to cross the border.

An Israeli airstrike destroyed a building in the Baalbek district town of al-Nabi Sheet on Sunday morning, following violent Israel airstrikes at dawn on the Jabal Safi area in Iqlim al-Tuffah, deep in south Lebanon.
A source within Hezbollah said Israel struck one of its buildings in Lebanon's east, close to the Syrian border, as tensions soared after Iran directly attacked Israel.

Israel on Saturday said its fighter jets attacked a "major Hezbollah military complex" in the al-Rihan area in Jezzine, deep in south Lebanon, after Hezbollah launched "40 rockets" and two suicide drones from Lebanon.
Hezbollah for its part said it fired "dozens of Katyusha rockets" at Israeli artillery positions Friday, a bombardment it said was in response to Israeli strikes in the south.
