Kuwait's foreign ministry on Thursday lambasted Tehran after the latest overnight attack targeting the tiny Gulf state, as hostilities between Iran and the United States reignited over the past days.

In a statement, the foreign ministry called the strikes "a direct threat to its (Kuwait's) security and stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, and a grave breach of the rules of international law".

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seeks reelection, his main concern these days isn't his political rivals. It's some of his biggest supporters.

A series of small, pro-Netanyahu parties are competing in the run-up to the Oct. 27 vote. But instead of strengthening the Israeli leader, these parties — including hard-line blocs led by polarizing Cabinet ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich — risk weakening his chances for reelection by splitting the vote among Netanyahu's base.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday visited troops in the Gaza Strip, where he vowed not to withdraw forces from their positions despite a U.S.-declared ceasefire.

"We control the area. We are not retreating. We are staying on this line," Netanyahu said near the so-called Yellow Line which demarcates the areas under Hamas and Israeli military control.

Iran's security chief on Wednesday warned the United States would face a "new strategy" from Tehran in the Middle East war after the heaviest exchange of attacks between the foes in weeks.

"You will soon see that Iran's new strategy on the battlefield, in diplomacy and in confronting the economic blockade will shatter your foundations," Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei posted on X.

On the surface, Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Egypt this week is a run-of-the-mill opportunity for two countries to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties.

But there is deep subtext to the meeting between Xi and President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi: China, the United States' top global rival, is cultivating an extensive relationship with one of America's key allies in the Middle East as it moves to expand its influence in the rapidly changing region.

Iran's top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Wednesday called the United States "Satan" after an attack on a wedding ceremony in the country's south.

"Minab school: children massacred. Lamerd sports hall: kids slaughtered. Kouhestak wedding: children killed with families. If a power acts like Satan, picks targets like Satan, and kills like Satan, it's Satan. Shields a junior Satan that does the same? It's THE Great Satan," said Ghalibaf in a post on X.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Wednesday that four personnel were killed in a U.S. attack on the western province of Kermanshah.

"Four fighters of the IRGC Aerospace Force in Kermanshah province were martyred in an attack by the U.S. regime," the Guards said in a statement carried by Fars news agency, using their acronym.

Iranian forces said they launched on Wednesday attacks on U.S. military targets in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and other countries in the region.

In a statement, the Iranian army said "dozens of the army's attack drones... have targeted radar systems and the positions of U.S. forces at the Al Dhafra and Al Minhad bases in the United Arab Emirates".

Iranian media reported that the country's military had launched a "decisive operation" against U.S. targets in the region on Tuesday, as Washington carried out a fresh round of strikes.

The Tasnim news agency said a "decisive operation by Iran's armed forces in response to the U.S. enemy has begun. The U.S. bases and interests in the region are being targeted by Iranian missiles and drones."

The Iranian Red Crescent said on Tuesday that four people including a child were killed and over 50 people were wounded by a U.S. attack while attending a wedding in the south.

"Following a US missile attack, shrapnel hit a residential home in the city of Kuhestak, in Sirik county of Hormozgan province, where a wedding celebration was taking place," the Red Crescent said in a post on X.
