Israel struck a headquarters belonging to the Islamist group Jamaa Islamiya, an ally of Hamas and Hezbollah, in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon on Tuesday, state media reported.
"The Israeli enemy carried out an air raid a short while ago, targeting a headquarters of the Jamaa Islamiya" in the coastal city, state media said.

Hezbollah said it targeted an Israeli tank on the edge of a Lebanese border village on Tuesday, hours after Israel's defense minister ordered his troops to take control of more strategic positions inside Lebanon.
In a statement, the pro-Iran armed group said: "In response to the criminal Israeli aggression... and after monitoring movements by the Israeli enemy army in Tel Nahas on the outskirts of Kfar Kila, our fighters targeted a Merkava tank with appropriate weapons and scored a direct hit."

Hezbollah announced it targeted a military facility in Israel in its fourth attack on Tuesday, as Israel continued to strike Lebanon including the capital Beirut.
The group said in a statement it had targeted the Maayan Baruch site in northern Israel with rockets, "in response to the criminal Israeli aggression that struck dozens of Lebanese cities and towns, including Beirut's southern suburbs".

The deputy head of Hezbollah’s political council, Mahmoud Qmati, on Tuesday issued a statement addressed to the residents of south Lebanon, saying that Hezbollah had maintained its “patience” after the 2024 ceasefire agreement for “their sake” and to “avert aggression,” hoping that the state would “achieve a positive outcome through its diplomatic efforts.”
"We have repeatedly stated that patience has its limits and sent messages that we can no longer tolerate the killing of our citizens and youth and the destruction of our homes, yet we were accused of weakness,” Qmati said.

Israel's attacks on Lebanon have displaced more than 58,000 people, Lebanese authorities said on Tuesday, as the Israeli military continues its strikes following a Hezbollah rocket launch.
The government's disaster and management unit said that more than 58,000 people have been displaced, double the amount it had reported on Monday.

President Joseph Aoun said Tuesday that the decision to ban Hezbollah's military activities is "irreversible", as the Iran-backed movement claimed responsibility for new attacks targeting Israeli positions.

The Israeli military said it struck assets of a financial institution on Monday already sanctioned by Washington for funding Hezbollah activities.
"A short while ago, the (Israeli military) completed a wave of strikes against the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association, which funds the Hezbollah terrorist organization throughout Lebanon," the military said, without specifying where the strikes were carried out.

A Cypriot government source told AFP on Monday that Iranian-made drones that targeted a British military base in Cyprus had been launched from nearby Lebanon, probably by Hezbollah.
The source said "it has been confirmed" the drones -- one of which struck a runway -- had set off from Lebanon. When asked if the Iran-backed militant group had launched them, they replied "most likely".

The Israeli military issued new evacuation orders for dozens of locations in Lebanon on Tuesday, including warning residents in two southern Beirut neighborhoods to stay away from several buildings ahead of an imminent operation.
"Urgent warning to the residents of Lebanon, specifically in the villages which names are shown," said a statement by the military's Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee on Telegram, which listed 50 locations.

Israeli forces advanced into a border area in Lebanese territory on Tuesday, a Lebanese army source told AFP, shortly after the Israeli defense minister instructed his troops to "take control of additional strategic positions in Lebanon".
"Israeli ground forces advanced from Kfar Kila and the Khiam plains," along the Lebanon-Israel border, the source said, requesting anonymity and expressing concern over "Israel's attempt to establish a broad security belt in south Lebanon".
