Hezbollah said Wednesday it had targeted an Israeli military base near Tel Aviv in central Israel and a naval base in Haifa in the north with swarms of attack drones.

The Israeli military told residents living south of Lebanon's Litani river to immediately head north on Wednesday, warning that the Israeli army was "compelled to take military action" against Hezbollah in the area.

Hezbollah said on Wednesday it had targeted the headquarters of Israel Aerospace Industries, in central Israel, overnight with a drone attack while also saying it launched a missile at a drone control base.

Israeli forces have advanced into a number of towns and villages in south Lebanon, a source from the U.N. peacekeeping force in the country, UNIFIL, told AFP on Wednesday.

Israeli strikes hit a Beirut hotel and residential complex in Lebanon's east, Lebanese state media said Wednesday, as Israel announced broad strikes in response to Hezbollah missile and drone launches.

Lebanese state media said the Israeli attacks targeted a building in Baalbek, in Lebanon's east far from the border, as well as a hotel in an area of Beirut so far spared from the violence.

Hezbollah said it targeted northern Israel's Haifa naval base on Tuesday, its 12th attack of the day as Israel continued to strike Lebanon, including Beirut's southern suburbs

In a statement, the group said that "in response to the criminal Israeli aggression that struck dozens of Lebanese cities and towns, including Beirut's southern suburbs", it targeted the base with "a barrage of high-quality missiles" at 8:00 pm local time.

Hezbollah said Tuesday it targeted several Israeli military bases and tanks in response to Israeli strikes on the group's strongholds in Lebanon, including the south Beirut suburbs.

Israel continues to carry out successive air raids, particularly on Beirut's southern suburbs and the south of the country, after issuing evacuation warnings to residents, while Lebanese authorities on Monday recorded the displacement of more than 58,000 people from areas hit by the strikes.

The Israeli military said it killed a senior commander of Iran's elite Quds Force on Tuesday in a strike on Tehran, adding that he was responsible for its operations in Lebanon.

"Earlier today, the Israeli Air Force... struck and eliminated the temporary commander of the Lebanon Corps of the Iranian Quds Force, Daoud Ali Zadeh, in Tehran," a military statement said, adding that Ali Zadeh was "the highest-ranking Iranian commander responsible for Lebanon".

French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday ordered France’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to move from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean to help protect allied assets during the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Noting that the war had spread to Lebanon, Macron said the Iran-backed militant Hezbollah group made “the grave mistake of striking Israel” and putting the Lebanese people in danger but warned against Israel launching a ground operation.

Several projectiles were fired from Lebanon towards Israel on Tuesday but a majority of them were intercepted, the Israeli military said, as Israel vowed to attack the Lebanese group Hezbollah until it was disarmed.

"Several projectiles that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory were identified. Majority of the projectiles were intercepted, and an additional projectile fell in an open area," said a military statement, which specified that sirens had sounded in northern and central Israel.
