Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Sunday condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon as he hosted Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, on his first visit to Baghdad since taking office.

Israel has continued to strike Lebanon despite a November ceasefire that ended more than a year of conflict -- including two months of open war -- with militant group Hezbollah, which emerged severely weakened.

Lebanon's health ministry has said that Israeli strikes on the country's south killed two people, as the Israeli army said it targeted Hezbollah members in the latest raids despite a ceasefire.

The ministry said an "Israeli enemy" strike targeted a motorcycle in Arnoun, a village in the Nabatiyeh region about five kilometers from the Israeli border, killing one person.

President Joseph Aoun on Sunday began an official visit to Iraq by meeting with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid.

One person was killed Sunday in an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in the southern town of Arnoun, Al-Jadeed TV said.

Earlier in the day an Israeli drone bombed a car in the Bint Jbeil district town of Beit Leef, wounding one person, the Health Ministry said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit Lebanon on Monday, the Iranian foreign ministry said.

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah on Saturday said “the stances we’re hearing from some of the government components do not only contravene the Ministerial Statement, but are against it and its total opposite.”

Lebanese official media said an Israeli strike killed one person in the south on Saturday despite a six-month-old ceasefire, as Israel said it targeted a Hezbollah militant.

The Lebanese Army will likely begin removing Hezbollah’s weapons north of the Litani River next week, informed sources told the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper in remarks published Friday.

President Joseph Aoun held Friday a security meeting with the Minister of Defense, the Army Commander, and the Intelligence chief over the disarmament of Palestinian camps in Lebanon, which will start in mid-June in three Beirut camps.

Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri had met earlier Friday at the Baabda Palace, in talks described by Berri as "excellent."

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri seems to support ally Hezbollah in its cold war with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

Salam, who vowed the state's monopoly on arms since his appointment, recently escalated his rhetoric saying that the era of "exporting the Iranian revolution has ended" and that the state "will not remain silent over any arms outside the state’s control". "The region has grown tired of Iranian-U.S. polarization," he said.
