The Health ministry said that one person was injured Thursday in an Israeli strike that targeted a car in the southern town of Bourj Qalaway.

Also on Thursday, Israeli artillery shelled the southern town of Yaroun and the outskirts of al-Wazzani.

A Lebanese MP who has close ties to U.S. officials has recently held meetings in Washington in coordination with President Joseph Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri, during which he “explained the risks from pressuring Lebanon to disarm the resistance and the domestic problems that may result from that,” a media report said.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea accused Wednesday the Hezbollah-led camp of trying to delay Palestinian disarmament and called for a government timetable for removing all illegal Lebanese arms.

Beirut port blast investigator Judge Tarek Bitar on Tuesday scheduled a June 13 interrogation session for former public works minister Ghazi Zoaiter, an Amal Movement member who is one of the accused in the case, the state-run National News Agency said.

Former public works and transportation minister Ali Hamie, who was named by Hezbollah to the previous government, has been appointed as President Josep Aoun’s adviser for reconstruction affairs, media reports said on Tuesday.
