At least 14 rockets and mortar rounds fired by militants in Gaza struck southern Israel on Monday morning, causing no injuries but damaging a home, the army said. 

The latest incident added to the already-high tension in the area which has seen a surge in rocket fire over the past two weeks. 

An Israeli drone strike Sunday killed a Palestinian militant in Gaza, Palestinian security officials said, in the latest air raid on the coastal enclave.

An army spokesman said the raid targeted "terrorists" who had been preparing to fire rockets at Israel.

A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip on Saturday hit an industrial zone in Sderot in southern Israel, setting a building on fire but without causing casualties, police said.

Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told Agence France Presse a second rocket struck open ground.

An Israeli air strike on a car in the Gaza Strip killed two Palestinians Friday, medics said, hours after a bomb exploded near troops manning Israel's security fence.

The violence comes a day after Israel accused two men it said belong to Hamas of kidnapping three Israeli teenagers in the occupied West Bank a fortnight ago.

Five Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were wounded Friday by Israeli tank shells fired in response to the detonation of a border bomb, Palestinian medics and the Israeli army said.

A spokesman for Gaza's health services, Ashraf al-Qudra, told Agence France Presse the five were wounded after the tanks targeted "two mosque minarets" east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.

The Israeli air force carried out 12 raids on the Gaza Strip overnight after militants fired more rockets at southern Israel, Palestinian security sources said Wednesday.

The attacks struck training grounds used by Palestinian militants, leaving two people lightly injured, they told Agence France Presse.

Israel's foreign minister said Sunday a final decision has yet to be made on his threat to expel the U.N.'s peace envoy for offering to help transfer Qatari funds to Gaza.

Avigdor Lieberman was reported to have said by Channel Two television that he wants to declare Robert Serry persona non grata and expel him from Israel over the alleged offer.

An explosion killed at least five members of Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in a tunnel under the Israeli border Thursday, Palestinian officials said.

"Five martyrs were killed in a resistance activity in Saghira neighborhood" in eastern Gaza City, the local Hamas information office said, without elaborating.

Israeli troops have arrested some 30 Palestinians in the West Bank as they ramped up a search for three teenagers believed kidnapped by Hamas, the army said on Thursday.

The arrests overnight raised the number of Palestinians detained since the youths went missing a week ago to 280, around three-quarters of them members of the Islamist Hamas movement, a statement said.

Israel stepped up efforts to crush Hamas in the West Bank Tuesday as the hunt for three Israeli teenagers believed kidnapped by the Islamist movement entered its fifth day.

Thousands of troops searching for the youths turned their attention overnight to the northern West Bank city of Nablus and surrounding area, arresting 41 Palestinians, the army said.
