Utah's governor and other top officials have honored Robert Redford for his on-camera and off-camera contributions to the state as owner of the Sundance ski resort and founder of the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute.

Some 500 people, including U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker, attended the Saturday night event billed as "The Governor's Salute to Robert Redford: A Utah Tribute to an American Icon."

Miss Universe Host Slams Russia for 'Demonising' Gays

U.S. television host Thomas Roberts, who is in Moscow to present Miss Universe contest and is openly gay, has condemned Russia's homophobic legislation in what he called dark times for the country.

"The Russian laws obviously are a dark time and a dark chapter in LGBT history here," Roberts told Agence France Presse after arriving in Moscow with his husband ahead of the Miss Universe final on Saturday.

Kanye West Pleads not Guilty in Battery Case

Kanye West has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft in a case filed over a scuffle with a celebrity photographer earlier this year.

Attorney Blair Berk entered the plea on the rapper's behalf Thursday in a Los Angeles court. West was charged with two misdemeanors in September over a July altercation with paparazzo Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport.
