N.Y. Night Club Closed After Chris Brown, Drake Brawl

New York police have shut down a nightclub after R&B singer Chris Brown and rapper Drake got into a brawl over fellow artist Rihanna which left eight injured, authorities and local media said.

A New York Police Department spokeswoman told Agence France Presse the W.i.P. (Work in Progress) basement club in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood was closed late Saturday due to unspecified "code violations."

In the latest scare involving the perennially troubled star, paramedics rushed to the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Marina Del Rey, west of Los Angeles after a 911 call that she was "non-responsive."

Singer Chris Brown, his girlfriend and his bodyguard were injured when a dance floor showdown with members of hip-hop star Drake's entourage turned into a bottle-hurling brawl earl Thursday at a nightclub, police said.

Brown tweeted a photo of himself with a cut chin, then later removed it, as well as other messages about the fight, including epithets and taunts. A representative later released a statement saying the singer and his girlfriend, model Karrueche Tran, were victims of a "brutal attack."

Pop Star Prince's Request for Eiffel Tower Show Rejected

U.S. pop star Prince has been refused permission by the mayor of Paris for a concert under the Eiffel Tower on July 14 because it would clash with Bastille Day celebrations, a close aide said Wednesday.

"There was a request from the producer of Prince in France to organize a concert on July 14," said the aide to mayor Bertrand Delanoe.
