Harry Potter Author Gives Scottish 'No' Campaign £1 Million

Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling said Wednesday she had donated £1 million (1.2 million euros, $1.7 million) to the "No" campaign in the Scottish independence referendum.

The multi-millionaire writer, who was born in England but has lived in the Scottish capital Edinburgh for more than two decades, said there would be "serious risks" if Scots voted for independence on September 18.

The cast member, 40-year-old Steven Jordan, known as "Stevie J," is also a Grammy-winning record producer.

Ahmet Muhsin Tuzer, a Muslim religious leader from a tiny hamlet on Turkey's Mediterranean coast was investigated by the Diyanet, the state body in charge of the country's mosques.

Paul McCartney has postponed the start of his U.S. tour, due to begin on Saturday, as he recovers from an illness that forced the cancellation of gigs in Japan and Korea last month.

Halle Berry Reaches Settlement on Child Support

A judge has approved a settlement between Halle Berry and her ex-boyfriend over child support payments for their 6-year-old daughter.

The agreement approved by Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon on May 30 calls for Berry to pay ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry $16,000 a month or nearly $200,000 a year to support their daughter. The Oscar-winning actress will also pay for their daughter's tuition, but the former couple will split health care expenses.
