Man Who Accosted Pitt Pleads no Contest to Battery

A man who accosted Brad Pitt on a red carpet pleaded no contest to battery Friday and was ordered to stay away from the actor and Hollywood red carpet events.

Vitalii Sediuk entered the plea during a court appearance Friday afternoon, two days after he leaped from a fan area and made contact with Pitt at the "Maleficent" premiere. He was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to attend a year's worth of psychological counseling.

George Michael's spokeswoman says the singer is "resting" after receiving hospital treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

The Sun newspaper reported Thursday that ambulances were called to Michael's London home on May 22 and the former Wham! singer was taken to a hospital.

Guitarist Pete Evick says on Michaels' Facebook page that Michaels was three songs into his set in the city Manchester on Thursday when he rushed from the stage. A crew member reported that the former Poison lead singer's blood sugar was extremely low. Michaels was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner David J. Cowan dismissed a guardianship case over Meadow Rain Walker after hearing from Amy Nieman, an attorney he appointed to represent the 15-year-old. Nieman said there was no need for court oversight because there was an adequate plan for the teenager's care, including help from a close friend of the late actor who has been appointed by another court to make sure Meadow Walker receives proper care.

Eva Longoria's female-focused steakhouse closed over the weekend, less than two years after opening in a swanky shopping center on the Las Vegas Strip.

Officials with parent company Landry's said SHe by Morton's shut down effective Sunday. The restaurant had opened in late 2012 with a theatrical nightclub on the upper floor, but the club portion closed in early 2013.

Brad Pitt Attacked at 'Maleficent' Premiere

A man was led away in handcuffs after allegedly attacking Brad Pitt on the red carpet at the Hollywood premiere of the movie "Maleficent." Pitt was apparently unhurt and soon resumed signing autographs.

Witnesses saw the man from the fan area jump over a barrier on to the red carpet Wednesday at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood and rush at Pitt, touching him briefly before security guards wrestled him back across the barrier.
